A Big Day!

Lauren woke up early today and got all dressed and ready to go. We had early morning dentist appointments, and a lot was riding on what that dentist had to say! A while back, when Lauren expressed genuine interest in having her ears pierced, I told her that she had to take better care of her teeth. And, if she had a good report at the next dentist appt., she'd earn the right to have her ears pierced.

Well, it worked. I didn't have to bug her to brush her teeth more thoroughly, and she had a goal to work towards. Her face lit up when the dentist says, "Everything looks great." Looked like she was still feeling brave and would go through with it!


She didn't flinch or get teary. She was surprised that the earrings were already in her ears when they were done! She tried to pick out huge stones ...and even asked if she could have dangly earrings. Oh boy. Thankfully, for the next 6 weeks, she's stuck with tiny rhinestones. :)
