This is a Race??

Marc and Tracy had told us about a 5K run for Badger, with a 1 mile run/walk for the kiddos, so we signed up for the good cause. We just told the girls we were going to go walk a mile with Grandma and Grandpa, so they were a little amazed at all that took place that morning!

The funniest part was when they lined up all the kids for the race. Lauren figured out quickly that it was to be a race and she made her way to the front for the best starting place. That girl is so competitive, she barely looked back when the whistle blew...she was off! Ali stayed behind to walk with the grown-ups, but when we figured out Lauren was going to be in the top slot, Corey and I ran back with her to see her finish...3rd place overall, 1st place for the girls!

While we were waiting at the finish line, we start to see a pink flek in the distance, and we realized it was Ali! She said 'Grandpa Marc told her he believed she could do it', and she took off for the finish. She sprinted the rest of the way and aside from a little hesitancy at a dog on the trail, she ran her heart out. And....came in 2nd for the girls, 4th overall.

These girls never cease to amaze me! (Especially when their mother dresses them in sandles! I'll know better next year.) :)
